Contributions
• Illustration: Created over 100 pieces of artwork a year to client specifications.• Client Management: Directly spoke with clients to complete projects worth up to $4,000 in value.• Marketing: Promoted artwork through social media platforms and at conventions, developing trend-aware designs that resonate with my intended audiences.
Freelance Art & Design
Since 2018, I have been taking art commissions from clients online, taking their ideas and bringing them to life in my style using the skills I have built up over the years.Among my work for personal-use clients, I've also done one for Akiba Soul, a collectible figure store. This illustration was used on the front of thank you cards sent out with orders. (See first image)
Merchandise Design
I enjoy attending conventions as an artist where I have the opportunity to sell copies of my artwork as prints and stickers to convention goers, so many of my freelance illustrations are for this purpose.I also do a lot of physical merchandise design because one of my favorite things is being able to see my artwork come to life in a 3D form I can hold in my hands!
The Numbers
• Product Design & Manufacturing: Designed over 100 pieces of merchandise and coordinated production.• Sales: Made over 800 sales in the past two years, generating ~$40,000 in revenue across online and in-person sales.• Production Process: Prepared, organized, and sent print-ready files, ensuring accuracy and professional quality product outcomes.
DATA ENTRY: PORTAL
DATA ENTRY PORTAL is a VR game sourced from the adventure game Portal created by Rob Swigart and published by Activision in 1986. Moving the gameplay from the 2D space of the Commodore 64 and other early computers to the 3D environment of the Meta Quest 2 enhances player experience through immersive images, sound, and interactive elements.Portal is the brainchild of writer Rob Swigart who had become interested in Cyberpunk novels of the mid-1980s and their prevalent trope of internet consciousness. This trope became the germ of Swigart's idea that the computer screen is a kind of doorway into a different fictional world. Meetings with Activision led Swigart to create the game as a database management system. The game was released to much acclaim, in 1986. No longer accessible in its original format, Portal can still be played through emulation software.

Graphic Design - Stream Assets
Live-streaming on Twitch is pretty popular nowadays, but to have a professional looking stream, you need to have stream graphics and branding. I created a couple stream layouts and a stream schedule template in Adobe Illustrator. The stream layouts can easily be imported into streaming software, and the schedule template is easily edited. When making something like this, both taking into account both functionality and appearance is necessary. Before designing anything, you need to know what information needs to be shown on the screen (live chat, vtuber, screen recording, subscriber names, scheduling, etc.) Only then can you begin to make a functional layout that will show everything in a visually appealing and easy to understand format.Next, appearance is based on the context - in this case the vtuber's theme follows "pirate" and "purple," so I chose a a simple pirate motif of a skull with the touch of wood and parchment textures to further enhance the pirate vibe. Last but not least, a font choice to further evoke pirate imagery, all while the color palette matches the purple theming and flows cohesively.
Textile & Costume Work
Something I do occasionally is handmake high quality costume pieces. A major aspect of this is properly translating the 2D concept and design to 3D.One big hurdle that has to be overcome is how I'm limited to using existing fabric colors. That means when designing something from scratch, taking fabric colors into account from the beginning can be limiting, but means the final product will better match the vision. However, when making something off of a client's existing design, I have to make decisions to choose fabrics that are close to the original design but also work together and keep a cohesive color palette. There are also often things that look nice in 2D but are physically unrealistic. Part of my work is finding ways to recreate things in a satisfying 3D fashion. There is a lot of attention to detail and patience required in the process, and just one headpiece can take over 100 hours of pure work, but being able to see the finished product makes everything worth it!
animation
DATA ENTRY: PORTAL Dreamstate
This animation was done as a part of the DATA ENTRY PORTAL project. I illustrated the background courtyard scene in Clip Studio Paint and animated the people's movement, the movement of the cobblestones, and the shift from the courtyard to space in Adobe After Effects. Other aspects of the animation as well as the sounds were done by my teammate Colin Standish, also in Adobe After Effects.

Eat Cake!
As another personal project, I chose to animate short gif of a character named Arcadia. This animation was also done in Clip Studio Paint as frame by frame. This animation took 6 hours. This was actually the first major animation project I attempted, which was good practice and really helped to better familiarize myself with the process.
Gun Twirl
For a personal project, I chose to animate a short gif of my favorite character from the mobile game, Space Leaper Cocoon. I animated this in Clip Studio Paint using frame by frame techniques. This animation took me 9 hours over a weekend. I utilized some motion smears to emphasize the spinning of the gun.

about me
I am a visual artist specializing in digital illustration, 2D animation, and graphic design. I graduated from Washington State University Vancouver in 2023 with a Bachelor's degree in Digital Technology & Culture with a minor in Mathematics. I've been drawing and being creative since I could hold a pencil, and "making things" is my favorite hobby. Recently I've completed many freelance illustrations for clients, as well as attended conventions (such as Kumoricon and Rose City Comic Con in Portland, OR) as part of artist alleys, where I sell things like prints and stickers I've illustrated.I have experience using an array of different software to reach my creative goals. Whether the outcome is an image, video, or something beyond, I pride myself in my ability to learn new software quickly and effectively in order to properly realize my visions. Trying new things is fun and exciting to me, and I already have plans to add more software to my skill set!Currently, my main goal is to be able to do creative work full time and to continue improving and honing my skills so I'll be able to make anything I imagine! I am confident that my dedication, determination, and attention to detail will make this possible. I would also love to be a part of another big project where I get to work with others. Being part of a group and seeing the fruits of our collective labor is something that brings me a lot of joy and satisfaction. When I'm not drawing, I like to sew, but when I'm not "making," I enjoy swimming, biking, and playing rhythm games. I'm a big fan of almost all foods, and I'll taste anything at least once, but my favorite cuisines are that of my heritages, Japanese and French.
